Ok Mateys! Here we go again. If you were forced to choose one of these styles, or walk the plank, what would you do? Would you choose giant shoulder pads like Linda Evans in Dynasty, or head to toe acid wash? This a tough one for me. I think you really cannot appreciate the size that shoulder pads really were, from the picture of Linda Evans. I mean, women thought that by wearing them, the rest of their bodies would appear smaller. Well, ladies big shoulders were seen on the runways this year, so stay tuned. As far as the acid wash is concerned, just looking at that picture cracks me up. Did we really do that? I don't remember doing it head to toe, but I do remember my acid wash jeans. Right now, I am hugging and kissing my dark wash Gap jeans. Ok mateys, tell me what you think. Arghh!

I'm so torn, but my vote would probably fall toward shoulder pads, but wow, only because it really seems like the lesser of two evils!

OMG that acid wash picture is so horrible! I would say acid wash if it was just the jeans- would the jacket really have to come with it?
Yet again, I would be walking the plank. This brings back memories of big hair and aqua net hairspray! Yikes, say it isn't so that these "fashion" trends are coming back!
Thirty something (or Amy), I don't really believe we'd ever be subjected to all of this again by the fashion gods-maybe JUST bits and pieces :) But it is fun to imagine it and reminisce, isn't it?

could that acid wash jacket with the fringe actually exist? too too funny. I cannot be caught dead in either- so I guess I'll be dead :)
this is like choosing between eating light poo or dark poo. sorry for the rather grotesque imagery but ewwww. I think I would have to go with acid wash because my shoulders are already wide enough and with those shoulder pads I would like a football player although the acid wash is mighty fugly as well. :P

Yes! It is fun to reminisce! ;-) It brought back memories of my acid washed PLEATED jeans! And just remembering when a shoulder pad would get "messed up" in the wash. It was impossible to get them back to normal. :-)
Ok i love the eighties but not the shoulder pads that came with it or the over kill in the stonewash jeans. I'd wear acid/bleached jeans now but id team them with something structured on top and in a monochrome to pair it down.
