I have the nagging problem of shadows under my eyes. I have found that cover-up just isn't enough. I have to use something that brightens me up around my eyes. So it was a Saturday night and I will admit that I am someone who gets sucked into infomercials. This was especially true when my son was an infant and we were up every couple of hours to feed. You don't want to know what ended up being delivered to our house (snow shovel anyone?).
So QVC had a beauty hour going on. I think they do really well with beauty products and have big names represented there (Bobby Brown, Smashbox, Philosophy). They were showing a product called Touche Eclat Radiant Touch by the one and only Yves Saint Laurent Brand. They demonstrated how to apply it and the before and after of creating light around the eyes. So I became hooked. I kept watching. They also showed how you can highlight other areas on your face with it, such as by the eyes and nose.
So what's the ending to this story? I hemmed and hawed about it, especially since it was $40. But then I went to Sephora and bought it. The result? So far I love it. I put it on after my foundation or powder and it brightens me up! It's easy to use because it comes out of the top after a couple of pumps, and applies like a pencil. It doesn't settle into the creases and seems to last for hours. Now I need to see if it lasts longer than a couple of months for the price.

Reader, what beauty dilemma do you have and what products work best?

oooh i get bags from excessive studying, haha joking. i wish. one dilemma i have is oily makeup because of the heat. but i've resolved it by using translucent powder, it's like an absorber
This is good stuff. I had a couple of colors of it (darker for summer time when I am tan). When I went back to the lighter color after a few weeks it had grown mold on the brush applicator so I had to toss it. Gross! I was super sad because it still was 1/2 full.
I have dark circles too-I just use cover girl corrector but maybe this would be better?
My skin can get red and splotchy looking around my nose and chin. I wish I could find something that either didn't dry me out or cause break outs. I've yet to find the perfect balance!
I must admit I have fallen prey to the infomercial! My beauty dilemma is an oily T zone. I have found that Proactive works great for me and have been a loyal user for a couple of years now. It doesn't work for everyone, but I swear by it!
i have to try it. i am finding issue with circle under the eyes recently.
WHoopeee!!! This is my FAVORITE product that I treat myself to once a year at Christmas and use sparingly from there on out! I think it lasts me four months or so...until it's summer and my overall color improves. Currently I'm trying another similar product by Smashbox called Photo Op, but it's just not the same...
Ohh, does sound good... I'd like to see if it lasts for more than a couple months as well!! Keep us posted!! :)
Oh, I'm glad I came by today! I have very dark circles around my eyes and am always looking for something to help. I'll have to give this a try.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love yours!
My chronic problem -- trying to cover the sun damage (brown spots) from years of baking in the sun. Without sunscreen, naturally. (Talk about regrets!) Currently, I'm using Smashbox primer and foundation, which I really love. I also have tried the Smashbox Photo Op eye brightener (like the commenter above), but I don't notice a difference when I use it.
Are you in Cleveland, my dear? Great review of Touche Eclat. I've been hemming and hawing about that for a while now due to the $$ but I too have really dark circles and needed a quick, effective highlighter that wouldn't settle into my lines like paving a pothole. Looks like I'll have to give it a try!
