Winter 08/09: Tuxedo Inspired Looks

On the heels of New year's celebrations, what do my readers think of tuxedo inspired looks, especially the tuxedo jacket worn over dresses, pants and jeans by stars and models galore (pictures courtesy of glamour.com and elleuk.com)?

I happen to like the look, especially over jeans and as an alternative to a wrap, worn over a dress.

Here are some other inspired looks from Charlotte Russe and Ny and Company.

The dresses you show are cute and cheap!

I was at the Macy's sale over the weekend and there was a DKNY tux jacket on clearance that really caught my eye.

I considered it, but then wondered whether this would be one of those short-lived trends? I didn't want to get something that would be out-of-style next Fall.

But it was a really cute jacket! Looked really flattering too.

I know what you mean, Anchibride! But I think if it is a fitted jacket, it would last you many seasons!

oh j'adore this look! and i'm not one to use french willy-nilly. haha. i like to cover up and leave something to the imagination when i wear a skimpy frock and then do a calculated "reveal" so this tuxedo jacket trend is perfection imo :)

You know, I just love the vests and dresses, but feel nothing but trepidation about actual tuxedo jackets. I feel like the celebs can rock them, but us regular gals? Not so sure.

I absolutely adore menswear inspired looks...Blazer is definitely one of my faves as well..It's just so cool to mix up feminine and rough to get an edgy look :)
Great post darling! :)
Happy holidays! ;)
