Some I like, some I don't. Most I've seen are boho/peasant style, like above. But I've seen some that are straight, and to the floor too.
The ones below are from Charlotte Russ.
I'd say if you are going to wear one, keep the top part of your outfit minimal- a plain tee or tank, and wear flats. Unless you need it to look more dressy.

I really like the ones that you can wear as a dress or skirt, like below at Target, for $29.99!

LOVE IT!

I saw that at Target but I didn't know that's what it did! It's pretty!
love them! I love anything flowy! and this way you can pair it up with a cute top or just a white t-shirt, both are great picks

I understand why so many are fond of this style of skirt, but it's just not for me.
The convertable dress/skirt is a great idea though!
I love my black jersey maxi skirt ... but the printed ones turn me off.
Maxi skirts are ok, but I like maxi dresses better. That skirt from Target can do both! Awesome!!!

I think I'd gravitate toward a straight style maxi skirt. The others remind me of when I used to pretend to be Laura Ingalls when I was growing up!
I am a short person, so maxi skirts just make me look shorter...unless I wear one like your last Target photo. I do love that they are light and flowing...it feels nice in warm weather...but, at least for me, the length just does not work.
oohhh i love how versatile that is! and even though i'm short i loooove the maxis!
I think they're cute, but I'm not sure if they'd be cute on me!
My style these days could be described as...well, nothing. I'm devoid of style at the moment, but I'm working on it. Not sure if I'd be a good candidate for those skirts cuz I'm kinda short and dumpy. But, they do look cute. Thanks for stopping by for the partay today, it was fun, right?!
Hi,
Maxi-skirts were in (a gazillion years ago) when I was young and I loved them then and love them now. They are not very popular here up north, so I would feel funny wearing one, but I think they would be fun to add to the wardrobe.
Great blog. Thanks for joining my blog.

Love them!
I love, love, love these! I used to wear peasant skirts all the time (still have some that I can't give up) and this style just flows right into my hippie nature.
I could fill up a closet with these skirts/dresses and not bat a eye.
I think they're pretty on people of the appropriate height. I, of course, am not of the appropriate height - I'm 5'1! - thus, I don't think they look very good on me. :(
