So it's time to stock up on shorts for next year!

And the short......of it!
Although really, I need to just get out of my favorite shorts already and wear something else (like the ones below from Old Navy, but in a darker rinse). 
Readers, two questions:
Do you gravitate towards shorter or longer styles?
Do you have a favorite pair you wear alot (like me)?

LONGER. I don't have the body for the short shorts anymore.
i have these pleated shorts from target in khaki and black that i wear alll the time, they're on the shorter side but kinda voluminous and cuffed (they sound awful but i swear they're not) which makes them modest and good for everyday.
great tip, though, i need to scoop up some sale pairs for next season :)
I'm always torn when it comes to shorts. The shorter ones look better on me, but I'm FAR more comfortable in longer styles.
I'm short so short shorts are better for me. Wow that's a lot of shorts. But I still don't feel all that comfortable in them. Give me a good old skirt any day. Much more flattering for me.
Longer, but I'm so short waisted I feel like I'm cutting myself off sometimes.
Also, it's so cold here in Iowa today (people tell me it's still July, but I'm hard pressed to believe them) that I'm tempted to go put pants and a sweater on!
I haven't worn shorts since college! Except for workout type shorts, when I'm working out. I wear capris and sundresses all summer!
I acutally wear skirts except for my workout shorts! Regular shorts make me look hippie (and not the 60s kind)!

i bought my first pair of shorts since i was a kid this summer! i actually HATE them. well these ones aren't so bad (they're by columbia, called "river shorts") but in general i look so awful in shorts. but i do like the narrow, knee-length "walking shorts" on other people :)
I usually go for shorter shorts, just because it's more flattering on my body type. The fave pair this summer was white jean shorts with tiny rips. :)

Cute shorts!!! I like both types of shorts but recently I've been leaning towards the shorter ones.
Personally, I love short shorts; though at the moment I have 0 pairs. I've been lusting over a pair of silk/satin Chloe shorts in a lovely peach color with a tie waist. Of course, they are a part of my dream wardrobe! :)
