Military Jackets

The Balmain inspired military jackets are not really my thing.

They remind me too much of Janet's Jackson's Control years (Or Michael--he always wore this style), or the Beatles Sgt. Pepper's years.

If you soften the look, like on Olivia Palermo, below:

Then I LOVE IT!!

Here's another style from Ann Taylor Loft:

Yeah, that first one looks like a leftover Halloween costume.

Love the Ann Taylor version!

I agree. The styles that err on the side of ornate band jackets turn me right off!

I get that uncomfortable itch that seems to go hand-in-hand with high school marching band uniforms just from looking at those first photos, but I love the Ann Taylor Loft version!

I love the softer version. It is so feminine and classy. I'm not a big fan of the 80s style either. I does remind me a little too much of the Janet Jackson video.

I looked at the one from Ann Taylor Loft and I wasn't that impressed with the fabric for that price. Maybe if it was on sale.

I wholeheartedly agree. The Balmian ones are just too costume-y for my taste.
