Forget Me Not

I've been working hard on a romantic suspense scene in my newest YA. This is my third book from a male POV (don't ask, I don't know why it comes out that way either). This kind of tension is more subtle on the outside.

I tried to forget
But you grew roots around my ribcage
And sprouted flowers
Just below my collarbones.
All day I pluck their petals
But I have not yet ascertained
Whether you love me
Or not

But we all want the same on the inside, no?

HAVE A GREAT MONDAY! Tell me what you're working on.

I can't wait to read it. :D

I'm working on my edits today, mostly a flashback (or two) that I need to write.

Good luck on your scene!

Today I need to buckle down and make some changes to the opening chapters of my WIP. I don't want to do it because I'm feeling lazy. But it has to be done -- and I want to have it done and be satisfied with it before I go back to school (aargh) next week.

Whoa. Two posts in a row with quotes I won't be able to shake from my brain.

Today, I am working on a project I'd been waiting to start for about a year. However, I'm already doing major rearranging and revisions--and I'm only 60 pages in!

Love this poem. Hmm..what am I working on?? Packing for vacation ;-) As for writing, I'm working on my rough draft of a new story and trying 1st person, present tense for the first time. I'm finding it very difficult though--my brain just thinks in past tense! I'd love any tips you might have on writing from a male POV though- I have another idea brewing and I see a guy being the MC.

It's funny, but I rarely read books from a male POV, though I bet it must be interesting! I'm working on a photoshoot idea with my sister and her friends. The theme will be the last days of summer...should be fun :)

Great poem and good luck with your romantic scenes! I'm writing mg so I haven't had to delve into to much romance yet!

Yay for WIP progress : )

Since I'm in between revisions I've been doing a lot of critiquing for other people. I swear I may have been an editor in a former life.

I like that you are writing from a male POV. That is awesome. I think different is good and how many girls wouldn't love to get into a mans head? (even if it isn't really a mans head?) lol. I am working on a couple different picture books and crunching through a YA fantasy. I've got to keep busy!

Oh, cool - have fun writing your scene! I'm trying to figure out the plotting specs of my recent WIP. I wrote about 30,000 words blind and now I need to figure out where I'm going!

I love that poem.
