Its hard to pull of matte lipstick. BUT I do love the look. You lips pretty much have to be perfect. I would rub an exfoliator over your lips before applying to get some of the dead skin off. For the past year or two I've been madly in love with lip stains, which generally deliver a mat-ish colour (that last for hours!) that's less intense (usually) than that of lipstick.
