So Guess What today Is?

Yep, the first day of Kindergarten! We live in walking distance from his school, which is great. But this is definitely a bittersweet day for us. It signifies an ending and a beginning.

See that smile on that mom's face below? Change that to silent whimpering and tears.

And it's not like it's his first time away from home. Little man is used to daycare, pre-school, and day camp. It's ME who's having a hard time.

Last night we read The Kissing Hand again, and kissed each others palms. This morning he told me that my kiss "stuck" and that he'll use it at school.

Oh how I love that little boy!

I hope he has a fantastic day and comes home this afternoon bursting with stories to tell you!

Yesterday morning, my 2nd grader and I stood at the corner waiting for the bus, and we did kissing hands for him to take to school and me to have with me during the day! Seriously, I'm nothing but mushy for little boys!

NEVER has the term "bittersweet" held so much meaning as when I became a mom!

I hope he has such a fun day!

I saw the little neighbor girl get on the bus this morning and her mom had a camera and all. It made me so sad! It really is a bittersweet moment. He is going to have so many stories for you today!

Aww! Enjoy the extra time for writing and etc. It's always harder on the moms than the kids. Guess that means you're doing your job!

You're making me teary eyed just remembering it. I'm sure he'll come home and tell all the exiting things he saw and did.
