The Golden Globes 2010

There are only two award shows I watch beginning to end every year, and The Golden Globes is one of them!

Yeah for Glee!! And for Michael C. Hall for his Dexter role!!

And now onto the dresses! I felt pretty picky this year!

I liked the short dresses worn by Kristen Bell and Ginnifer Goodwin: And the long gowns worn by Sandra Bullock (for the purple), Maggie Gylanhall, Zoe Saldana, Lea Michelle and Halle Berry (who blew Mariah out of the water as far as revealing dresses are concerned--she knows how to do it right. Mariah always looks too.... cheap):

Best dressed male, in my opinion? (aka Mr. *HAWT*) Chace Crawford:

Avatar got best director and best movie, but I'm not sure it should have won for best picture. It's sure to win for special effects or cinematography at the Oscars.(photo sources: Examiner and Just Jared)

THOUGHTS?

I love Ginnifer Goodwin and Sandra Bullock's gowns. Maybe I am partial to purple though :-)

Oh, thanks for highlighting the dresses. I didn't get to see them all the night of the Globes. I agree with you on the best dressed male. But I didn't understand Sandra Bullock's dress. Love the color and love her but ... not sure.

I watched the entire thing from start to finish, but I didn't get to see the Red Carpet. The dresses I loved from watching the ceremony were Halle Berry for sure (YOWSA!!!), Cameron Diaz in the red humber and Kate Hudson.

BTW, I'm a fan of Glee as much as the next person, but I don't think they deserved to win. It's only the first season and Glee already seems trite and repetitive. Just my opinion. I would've like to see Modern Family take the win :) On the other hand, Michael C Hall & John Lithgow totally deserved tow win. Yay Dexter!!

I didn't see them on tv, but I LOVE reading these recaps and seeing all the pretty dresses. That purple one is so bright!!

I hate that I missed the Golden Globes! I did see some highlights and I think a lot of the dresses were amazing!

I don't have TV service at my house, just not a big fan of TV. I do feel very out of the loop after reading posts like this one though. I guess I'll have to check Netflix for Glee and see if they have anything on it yet.

I also got the delivery failure notification last time I commented.

I really didn't care for Maggie Gylanhall's dress at all. But I don't really like her either so maybe that colors my opinion of the dress.

Haha I agree about the Mariah comment. That girls needs a stylist. Or if she has one, a new person :D

I didn't see GG this year. In fact, I always seem to miss that one. I always watch the Emmy's and the Oscars tho. I digress...LOVED Sandra Bullock's dress...saw a thing online somewhere about best and worst. She got a WORST. And yeah, Mariah Carey does end up coming across cheap.

I **loved*** that color on Sandra Bullock. She looked amazing. She just gets more and more beautiful! Ginnifer Goodwin's dress was beautiful too.

My husband and I do an Oscar contest every year . . . you in?

I love Kristen Bell - but I thought her dress was a bit bridesmaidy. And can Halle Berry wear a non-revealing dress JUST ONCE. I was really disappointed that Avatar won best picture and director?! Animation/special-effects - awesome. Script/story/acting - bad, bad, bad. And does a director actually direct the special effects? It should not have won those awards.

I would have been happy with Modern Family winning as well. The biggest disappointments for me was Jane Lynch not getting it because on Glee she is perfection. Love her.
Very upset about Avatar. JMHO but a best picture should be where writing, acting, directing, visuals all come together in a perfect bundle of cinematic ecstasy. Just visuals? Please!
Great recap.

Thank you so much for sharing the dresses worn at the golden globes. I didn't get to see the show this year and what I missed the most were the dresses. So thank you, thank you. What a pleasant surprise to get to see them.
