Quick Friday Five

1. We are going to the Great Wolf Lodge Water Park this weekend. My six-year-old is chomping at the bit. He loves it there so much.

2. But going to the water park pretty much means I have to live in a bathing suit for 24 hours and feel comfortable in it.

3. I thought about my suit from three years ago, and how I felt like I was falling out of it in all the wrong places. I took a sidelong glance at the Land's End clearance catalogue. I ordered a tankini and swim shorts (yep, shorts) on clearance and expedited shipping. Ahh, now I feel more comfortable.
4. I pretty much suck at novel openings. Also, I seem start my stories in the wrong places.

5. I asked my ninja beta reader, Kate, to look at my first chapter and help me out. She gave it the one-two kick and has me starting in a new place. I bow down to you, Kate! Mighty intelligent, you are (that's a Yoda reference/inside joke for you, mighty beta reader).

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYBODY!

Do NOT worry about a little thing like falling out of your suit! Just go have FUN! Sounds awesome! (we're also going - but to the Calypso water park. Little bigger since my girls are older)
Yay water parks!
And yay for super smart beta readers!

My daughter wants to go there! We went to similar place a few years ago and she had a blast. I hated it of course. It made me nervous wreck! Have fun!

At a quick first glance, the blue water slide appears to end in the middle and I was thinking, what kind of place is she taking her son to? Then I looked closer and saw the curve. I feel silly now. I love the idea of shorts and a tankini top! Great idea. I have tickets to a water park and am all over this idea.

Is that the one in WI Dells? We might be going there next week for a little R&R with the kids. We just have to wait on the weather.

Cute! I want swim shorts, too. No need to worry about pesky bikini lines (yeah, I said it!).

Rock them shorts, sister! Enjoy your weekend!

My tankini has shorts! Love them! Where or where have these things been all my life. Just like Jem says: no bikini lines. All my parts are securely placed and hidden! Have a blast!

You know I lived 15 minutes away from the GWL in PA and I never visited with my brother??? Always meant to do it, but never got around to it. Now he's 12 and I think he may be a little too old for it :( Hope you have fun!

I hope you enjoy the water park, feeling uncomfortable in a bathing suit is only natural after you are forced to grow up... crappy isn't it?

I'm glad awesome ninja beta reader Kate was able to give you a helping hand. Aren't they the best???

HA! I missed this post. Thanks for the props...and the Yoda reference!!!! Love it.

And guess where I'm going this weekend? THE GREAT WOLF LODGE. How hysterical is that? We went last summer for the first time and when we got the promo pamphlet in the mail this year we booked it straight away. My two boys are DYING to get there.

And, I completely re-arranged my first chapter. Again.
