The Five Senses of Winter: TASTE

My other Five Senses of Winter posts, are here: SIGHTTOUCH and SOUND

SUGAR: Sweet, smooth, melt-on-your-tongue chocolaty goodness (what ELSE is Valentine's Day good for?)! :-)

COMFORT FOOD: Warm, gooey, cheesy, tangy flavors melding in your mouth, calling to mind fleece covers and cozy fires.

HOT TODDY'S: Warm, sweet and strong flavors sliding down your throat, soothing whatever ails you.

And since we're talking about TASTE, how about a Valentine's Day Recipe?

I found this yummy recipe HERE (check out the others she offers):

1 devil's food boxed cake mix
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sprinkles (optional)

Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix well. Use a cookie scoop drop evenly sized potions of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets. If using sprinkles, roll dough balls in sprinkles before baking.

Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

 ENJOY!

I never thought of taste for winter but we must add a creamy Carnation hot chocolate made with milk.

Love it. I've been itching for spring or summer or warm days by the pool, but this was feel good kinda goodness. And I am super excited about THIS Valentine's Day since Livi is hosting a Valentine's Play Date on Saturday with all her scooting and rolling peeps. Maybe I'll make these cookies...
