Tell the Truth Thursday

1. Nana and papa left this morning to head back to Florida. They were here for two-and-a-half weeks. There are lots of emotions tied to that, especially for one six-year-old who wishes he could see them all the time.

2. Change in routine is hard for me. It takes me a couple of days to recover.

3. With guests in town these last two weeks, my motivation has gone out the window. Motivation to write anything meaningful, work-out, and eat healthy. Sigh...it happens.

4. I am starting to let Debby Downer get to me again. I've had some blah news days. I.will.not.let.her.get.me.down. She and Aunt Flo can see themselves to the door!

5. The good news is that I thunk up some great ideas for my two newest YA novels (one is a ghost story and the other is a contemporary) and I wrote them down. In pen. On a piece of paper. SO from the stone ages. ;-)

Hey, at least you had the confidence not to use pencil.

New storylines get me motivated. I don't see the blahs lasting long in your neck of the woods. (Hugs)Indigo

Sometimes writing on true paper can take your thoughts to a place you hadn't expected. Like that. Oh, and did you kick Debby Downer and Auntie Flo on their way out?? LOL.

Vacation and Motivation have never been part of my vocabulary at the same time :)

It does take a while to readjust after a visit. My MIL was here for about ten days from CO and she took my two oldest boys for the entire time and our baby boy for two nights. We had dinner just about every night where I didn't get home until about 10pm to start my routine for the next day. I miss her though. Wish she lived much closer! She left yesterday...

Tell me about it! It took me a month to get back on track from a vacation that lasted a week :o/ You'll get there!

Re: #5- Next thing you'll be telling us that you used an adding machine to balance your checkbook and a typewriter to complete your manuscript! ;)

Hope you're feeling better soon!

My sister leaves tonight, and I am really sad. I won't see her again till next summer - except for skype, which fails miserably in comparison to real life.

Yay for your new ideas. New ideas hold the power of excitement!!!

Yay to writing things down on paper...it's cool, right!? :) And I know what you mean about getting down...blah. We'll just have to tell each other that we're only allowed to think that way for three seconds and then we need to be positive!

You're not unmotivated, your mind is gestating on new plots and ideas while your body recovers from the adrenaline rush of visitors for two-plus weeks... let it work through it and eat bon-bons... come visit when you can...

I remember how sad I used to be when my Nonnie and Grandpa left after a visit!

I agree with Matthew, at least you wrote it down in pen.

Even the fact that you are telling Debbie Downer to get out the door proves that you are fighting that spirit (meaning your ahead of the game!)

I do hope you feel better and motivation returns to you. After all, you motivate me, so it seems unfair if you, yourself, aren't motivated.

I always enjoy bite-size posts. Sometimes, I do bulleted posts on my personal blog for easy digestion. ;)

Shhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I can't stand stay over company. There is something about having people in the house...I can't get comfortable.
Love you have new story ideas.
