I once had a garden filled with flowers that grew only on dark thoughts.
But they needed constant attention, and one day I decided I had better things to do.

See, something happened last week that threw me into a tail-spin.
Nothing major, but enough to make me feel umcomfortble and unsure of some things.
So, I walked around like I had a black cloud over my head.
And that black cloud brought more storms my way--minor storms, but still--wherever my tornado of a mood went, torrential rain and wind followed.
Until finally I quieted down and thought about it. All of it.
But they needed constant attention, and one day I decided I had better things to do.

I had one of those "dark cloud" weeks last week as well. I try to allow myself one "woe is me" day and then I try my best to some ownership and remind myself that I alwaya have choices. Feeling empowered, always makes me feel better. Glad this week is off to a better start for you and me :)

I like this. I do believe that we control so much of our emotions and reactions. It's just a matter of stepping away from them for a moment to gain some perspective.

Boo to bad days, but it's amazing how much your attitude towards things can affect how it goes. Glad you turned it around!
Awesome. It's amazing sometimes how much positive thinking and an optimistic attitude can affect things.
It was the closing of J Beth that bummed you out, right? Kidding! But I am glad that whatever it was is getting better...positive (and negative) thinking can be very powerful. Yay to doing lots of positive thinking right now!

I guess that's where the saying, "Mind over matter" comes from.
It's all about attitude and the sort of energy we are putting out into the world - it draws the same sort of stuff back to us. (oh, if only mom saw me writing this!)

Is it really that easy to lift the black clouds? One has settled over my neighborhood this week and it's really a nasty one!
Been there. I give myself sixty minutes to get it out of my system. Then its blue skies once again. Life's too short to let other people or circumstances control you.
