I love peeking in on the SMITHTEENS site which has become great fodder for my YA novels. The whole idea of the site is to tell the story of your life in just six words.
Here are some of my favorites teen angsty entries:
Sixteen and never been kissed. Pathetic. (by idontknow) aww!
I'm an artist, not an athlete... (by zaku-fox-kun) The story of my son's life!
Giving me butterflies through text message.(by silently-screaming) Perfectly modern.
Awkward boy, inexperienced girl. Ends disastrous. (by ssomuchlove) aww!
Dad: "Happy V-day."
Me: "Shut up." ( by zaku-fox-kun) parent/teen conflict.
SO what about the teen characters in my works-in-progress?
If I was Callen in my HANDS TOUCH book:
Can't touch you from a distance.
If I was Melody from A HAUNTED MELODY:
Miss you, but still feel you.
If I was Hayden in my DON'T TELL A SOUL zombie novel (LOVE the zombie nuts):
I masquerade as someone else everyday.
Here's my own six words for today:
Wish I had thought of that!
LOL! How about your own six words (or your protagonist's)?
